New factory for S.E.W. North Filtration A/S
S.E.W. North Filtration A/S is among the market's largest manufacturers of filter cartridges and a long-standing supplier to Gram Clean Air.
Mr. Jacob Hvidtfeldt Jacobsen and Mr. Lars Pedersen (left), who own and operate the company, both have many years of experience in the industry and have experienced explosive growth, which has resulted in the need for a new and modern factory.
With a vision to become part of the world's elite of innovative filter manufacturers and produce in a climate-friendly way, using robots in fully digitalized production, they took a strategic decision to establish the filter factory of the future.
Four years ago, the collaboration started with knowledge sharing around relocation and new factory establishment with Jacob and Lars, who wanted to learn from the process Gram Clean Air itself went through in 2015.
The collaboration culminated in us being chosen as a component supplier on all process extraction installations covering everything from forge shop, ply lines, grinding and welding processes and fume extraction.
On the product side, the supply included suction walls, hoods, extraction units, fans and compressed air cleaned filter systems. The solutions covered both NON-Zones and ATEX classified processes, as illustrated to the left with indoor flameless venting.
Update of ATEX-filter units
Over a longer period of time, we have been working on the update of our ATEX-filter units type CJF-A, HFU-A, ACF-A and QFG-A, since it was time for an update and the submission of documentation to Notified Body.
We have in this connection made new pressure tests of our construction and at the same time used the opportunity to implement updates and product improvements that will take effect on new production orders from 2nd January 2023.
Of significant changes, we can mention the optimization of the Quicklock system for dust container that now will lift the dust container directly up against the sealing without shifting the position horizontal. This means that you no longer need to hold against to ensure the correct position and tightness at the container.
Visually, the biggest change will be only having even packing surfaces at all service doors, which have required that cyclone filter units now are equipped with advanced frames and outer flanges. Herewith completely even packing surfaces are ensured that minimize the risk of incorrect assembly.
Above-mentioned changes are only valid for ATEX-filter units and will have no price consequences.
At ordering compact filters F9
We still experience that compact filters with fiberglass paper (item no. 08 291 500) are selected at ordering spare parts filters for oil mist separator type OUK. Therefore we would like to make you aware of the fact that we clearly recommend the fully synthetic polypropylene filters (item no. 08 291 550 - see left) that are much more liquid resistant and at the same time cast with burst protection grid that also increases the mechanical stability.
Compact filters with fiberglass paper should only be used for dust filtration in relatively dry air.
80th anniversary of Gram Clean Air
On December 21st 2022, we could at Gram Clean Air A/S celebrate the company's 80th anniversary, a milestone in the company's history, which we celebrated internally on the day and during the new year 2023 we will mark it with customer activities.
Since the start of the company in Haderslev in 1942 under the name V. Aa. Gram with the production of piston rings, a enormous development has taken place. On the product side, several models for the improvement of the physical working environment are now being offered. At the same time the company is managed in third generation of the Gram familiy: After the founder Mr. Vagn Aagesen Gram, Mr. Sven Gram developed the first working environment prodocts and took over the management at the same time. Later it was the brothers Mr. Henrik Gram and Mr. Morten Gram, who were at the helm, while the company grew, and since 2020 Mr. Morten Gram has been the sole owner. In 2022, the company changed its name to Gram Clean Air A/S.
